Please mark your calendars for Saturday evening, November 12th for Dillon International’s Trivia Night which will be at the same place as last year, Shrewsbury Community Center.  This is a great night to come out and share all of that bottled up knowledge and help benefit the children and families served by Dillon International. Last year, there were over 250 players and the tables were sold out!

This is an excellent opportunity to show our dedication to these adopted children many of whom are from Asia in helping them to adjust and learn about their culture.

YAPA has held annual bbq’s with the families of Dillon International since YAPA’s founding year in 2009. Recognizing the positive influence that young Asian professionals can have on young children particularly those who were adopted from Asia, YAPA has proudly participated in various activities to support the ongoing efforts of Dillon programs. Dillon International not only facilitates adoptions from all over the world, but also extends support activities and programs to the children and families well beyond the infant and childhood years. It is in the critical years of self-awareness and identity development of these children that YAPA believes we can help. The Bird and Water Dance Ensemble is the first dance ensemble formed by people from Taiwan with physical, visual and other disabilities. After it was founded in 2003, the ensemble has performed internationally and won many Gold Medal awards in international competitions. The Komen Race for the Cure Series is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Of the net proceeds raised locally from the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure, a minimum of 25% goes to national breast cancer research and up to 75% stays in St. Louis to help organizations provide breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs.

YAPA and our partner organization, MAABA, will have a team at the Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure on June 11th! Come join us to support a great cause!

Over 70,000 people ran/walked the 3 mile course last year.  Hope to see you there!
